Friday: How Do I Love Thee

22 Jul

Days of langour.  Unbearable 100 degree heat.  The mornings are not cool enough.

This week seemed to take a year to pass.

Four days until vacation.  Watch my page for photos along the back roads of the rural midwest.

The week seemed horrendously long to me too and I don’t even have vacation to look forward to yet. (Mine is in about 3 weeks). I hope that you have a wonderful time and get some great pictures!

Unfortunately it’s as hot in the midwest as it is here. Maybe that will change before you get there. I could deal with this heat better if this was late August and I knew relief was in sight. As it is I can’t see that far into the future. 😦

S, the tempertures have been very nice in Illinois. Got a report from my grandmother bragging of the 70 degree night temps and the high 80’s in the day. I think there are a few that are in the mid 90’s but I will experience rain! Well, hopefully.

Plaridel, I said this the other day when making refernce to February being stuck at home while it sleeted outside and there was no hope of getting on the road. And the wind…the blistering north wind….oh you are right.

Sorry it’s so hot for you there.
Love the photo – it’s a lily, isn’t it? Looks like it has multiple petals layered on top of each other.

Val, it’s still hot!!! At 8 pm it is 105 outside. The lilly has indeed multiple layers of petals. Usually there are two but it looks like this time there are 3 layers. This plant does it every year.
