A Warm Day In January

30 Jan

It was 70-something yesterday, Saturday. Much of the day was spent outside in the dirt, plowing, digging, planting. Packets of seeds were flapping in the breeze in a small tattered basket. The shovel leaned against the wooden fence. Beets were planted, the remaining bulbs were gently placed in the soil on a corner flowerbed in the warm sun. Earlier bulb sprouts are already peaking up toward the sunshine.

Toward the end of the day, we took a short drive to Hagarman to watch the winter geese. Apparently many other people had the same idea for there were cars stopped and moving very slowly along the pathway with a camera lense projected out of a car window. That’s how I do it. Many of these photos were taken while in the car.

It’s very warm there! This post remind me I need to take a drive up north, as geese and swans feed on the farmer’s fields during winter. Have a lovely Sunday!

Sounds like it was a very productive, satisfying day. Don’t look now, but another cold front is barreling down on us. Glad we had the nice weekend. 🙂

For what was supposed to have been a rainy, yucky weekend it sure turned out nice! I have been working in the yard too and just out enjoying my new patio and romping the dogs. It sounds like you had a great weekend too! I love the picture you took of the geese!
