It had just begun to open this morning at dawn. I waited for a while; for the sun to peer over the rooftop to shed it’s brilliant light on the vibrantly colored bearded Iris petals. The variety was unknown but I am almost sure this is Bright Cloud. There are photos in my collection of the Iris in my family’s garden that have been identified and named.
This beauty was fully open by 8:30 this morning. The early morning breeze made photographing it difficult for the stillness of such a shot was necessary.
A swoosh of red colored was seen from the corner of my eye. One of the cardinals had landed just above the bird feeder adjacent to my garden to investigate the food supply. I had not yet fed the birds. Snow cat delicately tiptoed across the damp grass still cold from the nighttime. She enjoys our early mornings in the garden.
