Saturday.
The air is cool and breezy.
Branches of the persimmon tree hang low to the ground each overloaded with fruit.
Sisters ride the horses all afternoon in the sun.
Gramma holds baby boy in the porch swing.
Grampa works on the tractor.
A pitcher of sweet tea sits near the window.
Striped cat stalks a bird in the nearby tree.
Red dog lays in the grass.
Yellow roses in bloom.
The smell of jasmine.
The wind changes from the north.
Night brings rain.

Your beautiful words paint a picture almost as pretty as the one you posted.

Great black & white. Anything with horses in it I like. Your writing really adds to it, as well. Excellent work.

    Black and white is perfect.
    Best one you’ve taken.
How did you get the cool border on it?

Thanks for visiting me! I have spent the last 15 minutes loving everything about your blog; I’m originally an NM gal so it’s really striking a chord! Beautiful, beautiful pictures. 🙂

Have spent many an afternoon as my daughter worked her horse. The after workout treat was always looked forward too by both rider and mount. You’ve captured in both words and photo and peaceful, loving scene.

    stopping by to say “hi”

my ex used to do lots of black and white photos. I usually prefer color, but there are some motives where black and white just seem better.

Lovely. The black and white and the frame suit the shot perfectly.

Beutiful proze, or poetry? and photo. It’s good in B/W, gives it a timeless feeling. And it is timeless, a girl and her horse 🙂 haven’t we all sat like that with our horses all our lives?
Well, during the good times anyway 😀

Beautiful shot! It is perfect in black and white. I don’t think it would be near as striking in color. Your photo and words create a very peaceful scene.
