Gladewater, Texas

08 Sep

If your town looses its oil production, then start up an antique mall business. That’s what happened in Gladewater. It is known as the Antique Capital of East Texas. Gladewater is also both a Texas Main Street city and a National Main Street City.

While we were there yesterday, Labor Day, most everything was closed. People are like that on Labor Day. It makes for a nice photo opportunity though with very few cars on the road and few people blocking views of storefronts, signs, and other interesting subject matter.

The pump in the photo is the historic Gladewater Discovery Well.

I wouldn’t be able to walk past this without photographing it to death. Nice shot. Hey, how about adding me to your blogroll? 😉
