Why?

23 Jan

Today, the degradation of the inner life is symbolized by the fact that the only place sacred from interruption is the private toilet.”   ~Lewis Mumford

This photo was captured over the summer in 2008 at Callisburg Highschool.  It is a scene like this that could only be found in the boys bathroom.  I do not understand this.  There must be a deeper meaning behind it all.

Are they training them to aim for the middle?

Deeper meaning???? The most likely consideration is that the boys were hitting the rim and not the bowl so the janitor was trying to imporve their aim.

Improving the aim of young boys at the urinal is like taking your piggy bank to Washington as a fix for the banking crisis. Although my aim is at times suspect, I am an authority on the aim of 8 year old boys. Hmmmm…that didn’t come out exactly right. I mean, my son has nailed the walls more than once.

If you have a boy, paint a red bullseye at the bottom of the toilet, tell him to aim for it, and remind his father that HE is the prime example! That’s what I did anyway and it worked out!
    Looking forward to SEEING YOU!

The photo above was taken just a week before demolition of the school building. And that, my kind readers, was why I was in the boys bathroom.
