Caught In The Act

29 May

A lone chollo, a young one, grows on the massive Kofa wildlife refuge landscape.  This rock field is one of many along the road to the mine and as day grew weary, the desert became more surreal.  It is this photo of the 87 I took on the excursion that stirs my memory the clearest.

Increadibly weird photo! If you said it’s from the mars-mission I would have believed it!
beautiful in its shades of grey and deep black, and a beautiful composition.

This is an incredibly arresting photo. I like the stark surroundings and the back-lighting. Thanks for sharing.
