Crescent Bay, Washington

11 Jan

Planning the 2008 vacation, we have considered the Northwest.  This would include the Oregon coastline, Washington and possibly Canada.

In September 2007, work led me to Washington where I took the weekend and toured the Olympic Peninsula and found myself here at Crescent Bay alone one evening.  Wandering along the shore taking a trail up along the cliffs, I discovered a most serene point and sat back on some logs propping my feet up after a long drive from Seattle and up to Hurricane Ridge leaving the corporate world behind.   Mobile phone service and text messaging were limited.   The air was cold though and I had not arranged for lodging.  Fortunately, a room was available in Port Angeles on that Friday night.   A bottle of 2004 Nebbiolo di Klipsun, a hot bubble bath, and music by David Lanz closed the chapter on this very full day.

This is gorgeous. In our travels, my family and I have been to 46 of the 48 lower states – we have missed Oregon and Washington. But not for long. This has inspired me to start some serious summer vacation planning. Thanks.
