It’s been a while.
I’m not traveling as much as I once did resulting in fewer posts on this Backroads Photo blog. It doesn’t mean that I’m not working on my Texas photo book. Any trips taken now involve a cute little two year old and that can reduce opportunities for picture taking, interviews, and such. Yet it is important to involve him for learning. And he is such fun on our outings for he sees things that often pass me by.
This year my family has committed to visiting one museum a month. At first we stated we would visit Texas museums but being only a few miles south of Oklahoma I sure hate to miss out on the historical areas so close to home. Sometimes we take road trips north and find the loneliest roads of treasures of the Great Plains and Interior Highlands.
We continue to have day trips to national wildlife refuges and frequent Hagerman. Time of year is critical and that can be a hinderance to us for our own calendars are jammed up with scheduling that interfers with these outings. If its not that it is my husband’s allergies and his sneezing and congestion as I drag him across a field of blooming wildflowers in the springtime.
For now I plan my vegetable and flower gardens for 2011 and expect results. It has not been decided if I will keep this blog going with new posts. I’d like to continue to blog but have not yet focused on a particular theme. I’ll continue to read yours. Thank you all for visiting and staying with me all these years.

Nice to see a post from you. I hope you do post more – I miss your photos. I look in from time to time, still.
Totally unrelated, but in the interim I deleted Absurd Old Bird. I’m now blogging via my art blog instead.

What a sweet surprise. Thank you so much for popping by. I’ve not been in blogging mode in a while but lately, it’s coming back to me. I think I’ll start writing again.
