Boron, California

What on earth will you find in Boron California?  A big desert for one.  Boron is known for the Twenty Mule Team Museum.   Also Boron is home to Califonia’s largest open-pit mine, which is also the largest Borax mine in the world.

It’s dusty out there.  Not too many trees to provide shade.  But there have been some pretty important events in and around the Boron.   The movie Zombie Hunter was filmed in the area.  Erin Brochovich was also filmed in Boron.

I guess it’s cheaper than painting. :) I like it!

Maybe the stickers are holding the car together.

If they get enough stickers on the car they would never have to paint it!

I had to do a triple take on that Jeep – where it’s parked and with all those stickers all over it, I thought maybe someone had put something on the roof as well – it looked rather odd until I realized it’s just a pillar for an entryway behind it!

Boron? Okay. I have fond memories of the roads nearby…empty, they were, and therefore perfect for a jaunt in a 1000-horsepower car.

Hope you avoided Trona, however. Much livelier town but the odor is, well, indescribable.
